ELCHK, Enlighten Centre

Introduction

In response to an increasing trend of psychotropic substance abuse among teenagers, Social Welfare Department expanded an additional team of ‘Counselling Centre for Psychotropic Substance Abusers’ in Yuen Long in December, 2008.
ELCHK is responsible for the administration of ‘Enlighten Centre’, with a goal to reshape the experience of youngsters and allow them to develop valuable lives on their own.

Service Districts
Including Tin Shui Wai, urban and rural areas in Yuen Long and Lok Ma Chau Control Point

Service Objectives
-Providing diverse and quality social services through creativity and district networks
-Preventing drug abuse among teenagers
-Maintaining teenagers’ physical and mental health/ growth


Target Groups
1.Facilitating physical and mental development for psychotropic substance abusers
2.Providing assistance to their family members by mending their relationships and strengthening their determination for drug treatment
3.Providing professional training to schools, charities and organizations and connecting district networks for building up anti-drug platform
