Due to a decrease in youth population, the youth centre was transferred to another district to continue service. The elderly population continues to rise in Sha Tin with many of them chronically ill. Thus, Sha Tin Caring Centre has started to provide home care services for the elderly in a self-financing mode since 2000.
At present our services have been extended to include Enhanced home and Community care services (Sha Tin and New Territories East), integrated home care services and Integrated support program for Elderly Dischargees - home support team. More than 1,100 elders have been served.We seek to build a caring community for elderly.

Service Objectives
-Helping the elderly to solve the difficulties encountered in their daily lives, allowing them to age  gracefully.
-Strengthening carers’ knowledge and skills in providing care to the elderly. Providing comprehensive    professional care through the provision of day-care services, giving an opportunity for carers to have a  rest and equip themselves.
-Encouraging elders to make good use of their leisure time by participating in society and developing  their potentials for a fulfilling old life
- Building on the philosophy of “Respect, Love and Care for the Elderly, to encourage the community to    work together towards a caring community.

Target Groups
1.Integrated Home Care Services: frail, disabled or other individuals or families who need assistance due to sudden changes.
2.Day care services: for those in need in Sha Tin
3.Enjoyable Household: elderly or families who are in need of assistance
4.Qin Feng Friends: Elders aged 60 or above living in Chun Shek Estate
and Fung Shing Court.
5.Volunteer Development: aged 16 or above who are studying or working, and housewives.
6.Carer support services: carers who need to take care of frail elders.
7.Rehabilitation equipment - Resource Service: carers who need to take care of frail elders.
8.Canteen services for the elderly: elders in Chun Shek Estate and Fung Shing Court.
9.Sha Tin Enhanced Home and Community Care services: Persons aged 65 or above (aged 60-64 when proven necessary) who are assessed as frail elders with moderate to severe levels of impairment under the Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism of the Social Welfare Department
10. New Territories East Enhanced Home and Community care services: Persons aged 65 or above (aged 60-64 when proven necessary) who are assessed as frail elders with moderate to severe levels of impairment under the Standardised Care Need Assessment Mechanism of the Social Welfare Department.
11.Integrated Support Programme for Dischargees: Elders living in Sha Tin or Ma On Shan who are discharged from hospitals and are assessed as eligible for rehabilitation, personal care and residential support services by the Sha Tin Hospital Discharge Program Team

定期舉辦講座、活動、個人輔導、諮詢及轉介服務等。

義工發展

護老者支援服務
提供電話熱線、輔導服務、轉介服務、護老常識及技巧訓練、護老通訊、互助及充權小組。

復康器材 - 資源服務
復康產品介紹、資源閣服務(租借視聽影音及護理教材、閱覽室服務及復康器材租用)。

長者飯堂服務
提供午餐(中午十二時正)

沙田改善家居及社區照顧服務
提供護理計劃、基本及特別護理、個人照顧、復康練習、日間照顧服務、護老者支援服務、暫託服務、輔導服務、24小時緊急支援、家居環境安全評估及改善建議、家居照顧及膳食服務、交通及護送服務。(本會服務會因應長者的不同需要而訂定服務次數及性質)

東新界改善家居及社區照顧服務
