ELCHK, Tai Wo Integrated Youth Service Centre

Introduction

Tai Wo Integrated Youth Service Center is a youth service unit under the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK) and has commenced its service since 1990. Our centre adopts an integrated service approach by combining our centre-based services, outreaching services and school social work services in order to provide more comprehensive and diversified services to the youths and residents in our community.

Service Targets
Children and Youths aged 6 to 24, and their families living in Tai Wo Estate, Po Nga Court, Parc Versailles, Tai Po Garden, Kam Shek New Village, Kam Shan with its surroundings. 

Service Objectives
1. To facilitate the personal development of children and youth  to develop their life skills, potentials and problem-solving ability;
2. To enhance the social  development of children and youth in building up  their positive social values, enhancing their interpersonal and family relationships as well as contributing to the  well-being of the community;
3. To provide guidance and support to children and youth in disadvantaged circumstances such as disadvantaged family environment and deprived living environment and unfavorable social environment etc. and to direct them to more positive lifestyle; 
4. To adopt a community-based planning strategy to respond and address to local youth needs and to arouse the community’s concern on youth issues so that young people could grow up in a more concern and supportive environment.

Service Withdrawal and Termination
a. Group activities:
1. If a participant absents for three consecutive lessons without notice, he or she will be considered as withdrawn from the activity automatically. Paid fees will not be refunded. 
2. If a participant has to withdraw from an enrolled program due to personal reason, paid fees will not be refunded.

b. Case Work Service: 
1. Request for withdrawal from counseling service may be made orally or in writing through the social worker in charge. The social worker will close the case within one month.
